In 2011 Peter was instrumental in instigating a new award for operators and supervisor of inflatable play equipment. In partnership with the RPII the award will be officially launched at INPAS 2012.
Peter is now a Register of Play Inspectors International (RPII) inspector and will be heading up the latest division of Grand Affairs Group which will offer annual testing of inflatable play equipment. This will be launched early 2012.
Grand Affairs Group is now firmly established in the leisure, play and attractions industry and other initiatives and development is planned and Peter is always on the look out for new challenges in our ever changing world.
There are more plans for the future.
Grand Affairs was created in 1988 and Peter was a respected DJ performing at major hotels, on cruise ships and numerous private functions. As the work load increased Grand Affairs employed almost 80 Disc Jockeys providing Disc Jockeys for hotel chains and private functions.
In 1990 a disco retail and hire shop was opened and in 1994 the first bouncy castle was purchased along with a set of quad bikes.
By 1996 the hire business was running flat out and included bucking broncos, gyroscope, fairground stalls and over 60 inflatables. Grand Affairs rapidly developed and was soon providing TV and film companies, major blue chip companies and numerous corporate, private and event management clients. Grand Affairs equipment could be spotted nationwide and credits include BBC’s - Eastenders, C4 - Big Brother and Paul O’Grady Show, and numerous films and advertisements.
In 2000 a marquee company was added and Peter started to look for other areas to the Grand Affairs Group portfolio.
In 2004, following ill health, the hire business and marquee business was sold and Grand Affairs became a entertainment provider servicing all major Clients. The purchase of Inflated News (now INPA) in late 2004 was the first product to be added and then in 2005 a niche market for archery parties was bought on line with Archery4all. Peters interest in medieval history soon turned into a business and Medieval Events, specialising in living history and longbow archery, soon hit the streets.
In 2007 The Inflatable Play Enterprise (TIPE) was launched providing a subscription service for those operating inflatable play equipment. TIPE has continued to grow and is recognised as one of the industries leading sources of information and advice within the inflatable play industry.
In 2008 INPAS Expo & Trade Show was launched and continues to grow year on year. INPAS is the only dedicated show for the leisure, play and attractions industry in the UK and is fast becoming the industry show.
Our latest division ITATS is now the main focus of Grand Affairs Group who will be celebrating 30 years in the leisure and entertainment industry during 2018
